Your Questions, Answered
Planning your bridal beauty journey should feel exciting, not overwhelming. From bridal trials and wedding morning timings to longevity, skincare and looking like the very best version of yourself, you'll find the answers to our most frequently asked questions below.
When should I book my wedding make-up artist?
As soon as you've secured your date and venue. Popular summer weekends can book up 12–18 months in advance, particularly for sought-after artists. If you've fallen in love with someone's work, don't leave it too long. Due to my recent relaunch, I still have 2026 dates available, and I'm booking 2027 weddings now.
Do I need a bridal trial?
In a word: absolutely. Your trial is where we explore your vision, refine every detail and create a look that feels unmistakably you. It also means there are no surprises on the wedding morning – only excitement.
What if I rarely wear make-up?
You're in very good company. Many of my brides wear little or no make-up in everyday life. Bridal make-up isn't about transforming you into someone else; it's about elevating your natural features so you feel confident, polished and beautiful both in person and in photographs.
Will I still look like myself?
Yes. In fact, that's the goal. The most timeless bridal looks are the ones where your fiancé, family and friends recognise you immediately – just on your very best day. I believe in enhancing, not masking.
How long will my make-up last?
From the first sip of champagne to the last dance. Professional bridal make-up is designed to withstand happy tears, hugs, photographs, changing weather and hours of celebrating. The secret isn't heavy make-up; it's expert skin preparation, carefully layered products and professional application techniques.
Should I bring inspiration photos?
Yes, but think of them as inspiration rather than a shopping list. The most successful bridal looks are tailored to your features, colouring and personal style. A Pinterest image may inspire the feeling of a look, but your make-up should be uniquely yours. If you're exploring looks online, seek out brides or models who have your skin tone and hair colour - that's the best place to start.
What skincare should I use before my wedding?
Healthy, well-prepared skin creates the most beautiful canvas for make-up. I'll happily advise on simple skincare adjustments ahead of your wedding, but I generally recommend avoiding any dramatic treatments or brand-new products close to the big day. I offer a Bridal Skincare Journey to support your skincare goals.
Do you travel?
Yes. I provide a mobile service and travel throughout the North West and beyond. Whether you're getting ready at home, a country house hotel or a coastal venue, I'll come to you so your morning feels relaxed and seamless.
Can you accommodate bridesmaids and family members?
Of course. Bridal beauty is rarely just about the bride. I can create a bespoke schedule for your bridal party and, where needed, arrange additional artists to ensure everyone is ready on time.
How long does make-up take on the wedding morning?
Timings vary depending on the size of your party, but I create a detailed schedule for every wedding. One of my priorities is ensuring the morning feels calm, organised and enjoyable rather than rushed. For makeup alone, I allow at least 1 hour for the bride, and 45 minutes per bridal party member. Lash application and any additional upgrades will extend this time.
What products do you use?
My kit contains a carefully curated selection of luxury and professional brands chosen for their performance, longevity and beautiful finish. Every product is selected specifically for your skin type, preferences and the demands of a wedding day.
How do I secure my date?
A signed booking agreement and booking fee are required to reserve your wedding date. Unfortunately, dates cannot be held without both in place, as bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please take a look at my full Terms and Conditions for further information, and I will go through the process by email upon enquiry.
